“Bringing joy, connection, and care through music.”
About Me
My name is Morvern and I am an HCPC registered Music Therapist based in Wigan.
I grew up in Campbeltown on the West Coast of Scotland, where my love of music was first inspired and nurtured by my teachers, Gordon Evans MBE and David McEwan. I went on to become principal cornet in Campbeltown Brass and the National Youth Brass Band of Scotland. My journey then took me to Manchester to study cornet at the Royal Northern College of Music, where I immersed myself in performance and musical development.

After completing a Postgraduate Certificate in Education, I worked as a classroom music teacher in both secondary and primary schools in the Northwest of England, sharing my passion for music with young people. Alongside teaching, I had the privilege of performing with some of the country’s leading brass bands, including Foden’s Band and Black Dyke Band, and was fortunate to be part of National, British Open, and European Championship wins.
In September 2023, I decided to retrain as a music therapist with Nordoff and Robbins, a decision that has truly felt like coming home. Since then, I have combined my musical background with clinical experience in dementia care, hospice care, and supporting individuals with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND). I also thoroughly enjoy facilitating inclusive community music sessions, creating welcoming spaces where people can connect, express themselves, and experience the joy and healing power of music.
Music has shaped who I am, and I am dedicated to using it to bring joy and wellbeing to others through Conecto Music Therapy.
